National Popcorn Day, a time to observe the crunchy snack loved by many, normally occurs at the end of January. Though a set day has been argued, some observe this fiber rich phenomenon on January 19th. For the remainder of those who celebrate National Popcorn Day, this event coincides around the timing of the Super Bowl.
No matter when you celebrate, anytime is a great time for popcorn! My family loves to eat it for a variety of reasons. As I stated above, it is a great source of fiber so that big bucket will fill up bellies in a hurry. In addition, it can be eaten as healthy as you like it or as unhealthy as you like it. Looking for a low calorie option? Air pop some quality popcorn kernels, add a little bit of salt substitute (or none at all) and chow down. Would you rather dress it up? Melt chocolate or caramel over it for a purely pleasurable salty and sweet snack.
