Marcia began her artistic journey over 30 years ago as a naturalist, drawing scenes from nature. Her inspiration has always come from nature. Fairies were at first a hobby. In 1994 that all changed when Marcia debuted her original four and a half inch tall Garden Fairies at the prestigious Bellevue Museum Show, in Bellevue, WA, where she promptly sold out. In the past decade her fairies have remained true to form with small stylistic changes along the way. Her one-of-a-kind figures begin with a poseable wire armature, and hand-sculpted head and hands made from designer doll clay from the Netherlands. They are dressed with vintage flowers and trims, many of which are antique and from Paris. When asked why she continues to create fairies, Marcia replied,:
