Freelancer Andrew Jalbert has been a professional underwater archaeologist and scuba instructor for over 10 years. During that time, he has worked throughout the Great Lakes Region, the Mississippi River, the Caribbean, and Hawaii. Andy's first real interest in photography was sparked during his early diving years. Combining his knowledge of underwater equipment and environments with training through the New York Institute of Photography, he began to create a portfolio of images both above and below the water. His written and photographic freelance work focuses on tropical subjects and has been featured in scuba diving, natural history, fitness, and travel magazines as well as on greeting cards and web sites. Andy uses a variety of equipment including Canon and Nikonos cameras and Ikelite underwater housings and strobes.
