Frog Legs Inc. was founded by Mark Chelgren, an avid bicyclist with an intuitive mind. After coming across an energetic group of quadriplegic rugby players, his inquisitive nature got the better of him and he asked this group what their biggest concerns were as wheelchair users. The concerns voiced within this group were: The occurrence of muscle spasms due to the rough ride, reoccurring lower back pain, and being pitched from their wheelchairs. Being an avid mountain biker and making the connection to his full-suspension mountain bike to wheelchairs, Mark posed the idea of using shock absorbers in place of the wheelchair's rigid front castor forks. After continued discussion it was realized that nothing of this sort existed to retrofit wheelchairs.
